About the webinar

Practical steps to make training better.

Margaret Helthaler shares practical steps with nonprofits to build effective training.

Training doesn’t need to be perfect—it just needs to be purposeful. When staff or volunteers are left to “figure it out,” the results can be uneven at best. This session is for people who work for a nonprofit and need to train others but don’t have a background in instructional design.

Join Margaret Helthaler to walk through a simple method to build effective training. You’ll learn how to focus on the outcomes that matter, check for understanding, and design sessions that help people succeed. We’ll also discuss ways to improve informal practices like shadowing, so your training feels more intentional—and less like guesswork. Whether you’re onboarding new team members or refreshing an old process, you’ll leave with practical steps to make training better.

About Margaret

Margaret Helthaler is the Director of Marketing at Niche Academy, but she isn’t your typical marketer. With a BFA in graphic design, MFA in visual art, and a certificate in eLearning Instructional Design and Development, Margaret was a freelance graphic designer and college professor for many years—including over a decade of online teaching, curriculum development, training, and faculty management. She served Niche Academy as an instructional designer for three years before assuming her current marketing role. In her spare time, Margaret enjoys hiking, birdwatching, embroidery, and other creative pursuits.
