About the webinar

Use the library strategic plan to guide programming decisions.

Lu Bangura helps you use the library strategic plan to guide programming decisions.

Join Lu Bangura for an interactive one-hour webinar designed for library professionals who want to make stronger connections between their programming and their organization’s strategic priorities. This session will provide a practical approach for using the strategic plan as more than a guiding document and turning it into a useful tool for programming decisions.

In this webinar, you'll discover:

  • Practical ways to connect existing and proposed programs to strategic priorities
  • Questions to help determine whether programs are still meeting their intended purpose
  • A simple framework for deciding when programs should be continued, expanded, redesigned, or retired
  • Approaches for considering community needs alongside organizational priorities
  • Ways to think beyond attendance when evaluating and communicating program success

Through practical examples and guided discussion, participants will explore how programming can become one of the clearest ways a library puts its strategic plan into action. Whether your library is implementing a new strategic plan or trying to strengthen the connection between an existing plan and day-to-day programming, you'll leave with practical tools and questions you can use with your team to make more intentional programming decisions.
