Advocacy Starts With Us: Engaging Everyone to Build Library Support
Engage elected officials and decision-makers to benefit your library system and community.
Christine Feldmann and Catherine Hollerbach will explore how libraries can build relationships and take meaningful action to strengthen support.
Library advocacy isn’t just the responsibility of the library director or a handful of staff—it’s something everyone can do. In this webinar, Christine Feldmann and Catherine Hollerbach will explore how library staff, trustees, Friends and Foundations, and customers can build relationships and take meaningful action to strengthen support for libraries.
We’ll focus on practical strategies for building, maintaining and, when necessary, rebuilding relationships with elected officials. Learn how to reestablish connections, find common ground, demonstrate the value of the library, and create meaningful opportunities for elected officials to engage with the library and its community.
The session will cover practical ways to engage elected officials and decision-makers to the benefit of your library system and community. We’ll also discuss how to equip trustees, Friends and Foundations, staff and customers with the tools they need to advocate effectively.
Whether you’re looking to rebuild a relationship, strengthen existing connections, increase visibility for your library, or mobilize your community around funding and support, this session will provide practical strategies for making advocacy part of your library culture.
